This site is by no means intended
to be an all inclusive inventory of flora & fauna in the
White Lake
watershed. It will continue to represent what I manage to photograph while wandering the
White Lake/White River watershed.
The motive for creating these pages
is to exemplify the natural attributes of our surroundings that
encourage
us to live here. We are very fortunate to live in such a
natural environment away from the traffic, noise and development
that has taken over virtually every community south of us. White
Lake is the first harbor on the sail north along the Eastern shore
of Lake Michigan with a nearly continuous shoreline tree canopy
without commercial or industrial development dominating the
landscape. Our shorelines and marshes have habitat rich in wildlife
and they are a stop-over for many migrating birds.
We have natural attributes most
other communities wish they had or wish they had not lost to
"progress".
